everything moneymaker does is weak… only because he bluffed once at the end against farha he is suddenly the the great reader and strategist come on…

yeah this wasnt a bad bluff but look at his next bluff were he bluffed against an ace that was a bad bluff… and when you see that in retrospect i think it was no acting before he layed the hand down… i think he is too stressed and goes nuts because he just realised how much he lost, i really think he cant handle the pressure

ya this play is really not as bad as it looks, just bad timing. It probably wins the pot 60-70% of the time. This is sammy farha we’re talking about and contrary to what norman says his bet on the flop is real tiny – call by money maker is weak, and 6 on the turn is a great card for continuing the bluff. is it a risky move absolutely, but thats his style anyway- not necessarily wrong. norman chad just doesnt understand the game imo.

    I’ve seen worse.

if sammy didnt have the nuts, the bluff would have worked. it moved top pair off his hand, when sammy made that call so easily, it wouldn’t be unreasonable to put him on a set. but he really had the house.

If you bluff and get your opponent to fold, thats a good bluff. If you bluff and your opponent has the nuts, thats a bad bluff. How more straight forward can you get.

Its not really a bluff cause he had no idea that Sammy is so strong AND he was also on a straight draw.

Incorrect. It’s not a bad bluff just because his opponent has a hand.
The worst bluff is the hand that Farha eventually eliminates him, in which Farha holds a pair of Aces with a mediocre kicker, and Vahedi jams the pot with air then dares Farha to call. Much worse.

  23. Comment by girlie347 — February 28, 2010 @ 1:28 pm

The bluff was the right play here, since he doesn’t know what the others hold.

BTW those commentators are stupid, saying that he bets $300.000. Yes, it’s 300.000 and it represents dollars, but in a tournament this is irrelevant.
