Online Poker Vs Real Life Casino?

Posted by poker bonus guru | Articles | Sunday 28 February 2010 12:55 am

Online Casinos are a relatively new form of entertainment on the internet. There are rouge online casinos and others that are well reputed in the industry. Needless to say, its important to play in a casino that offers secured payouts as well as fair gaming practices.

Online casinos offer a variety of games. From Slots, to Poker, Blackjack, Baccarat. These are versus the house, so its similar to an offline casino in terms of gameplay. Poker is a little different because you’re playing against other players.

Depending on the sort of experience you’re looking, here are the different experiences you can expect from an online or offline casino.

1) Online Casino

* They offer cash to new players, $100 to $1000, and various matching bonuses where they give matching cash to how much you deposit with them.

* If your objective is just to enjoy a casino game without dressing up, or spending money and time making a trip down to the casino, online casinos offer a live experience in the comfort of your own home.

* Anyone in the world can play, so there’s always a game. This is good if you’re into online poker, where you can play with anyone in the world.

* If you’re into poker, you will not be required to be put on the waiting list for long periods of time

* You don’t have to think of providing tips. Bascially, there are no additional expenses and money is channeled to the tables, and not on valet parking tips, hotel fees, petrol, food, water, etc.

* You don’t have to worry about strange personalities sometimes found at casinos.

* Cashing out is very fast, as simple as click of a button.

*You won’t feel shy about placing modest bets when next to an obnoxious high roller that places bets triple your stake.

2) Offline Casino

* If you’re into poker, you can see how other players play, which you cannot see from a computer screen, and this could help your game.

* Some people like the atmosphere of playing in a live venue.

* You can see cards being dealt live and this offers a sense of security to some gamers. Having said that online casinos do have live streaming video feeds where you can watch dealers deal cards live from your computer screen. This feature is provided by brick and motar casinos who have brought their gaming activities online.

How to Win Consistantly in Online Poker

Posted by poker bonus guru | Articles | Sunday 28 February 2010 12:55 am

Everybody now realizes how popular poker has become in the last few years. One interested in starting to play the game for money may wonder what his chances are at winning any money with so many players getting started daily. The truth is if you aren’t an educated player your chances aren’t very good at all. If you are a beginner I’m sure this isn’t what you were hoping to hear, but relax! I’m here to help. A great way to improve your skills is by playing as often as possible on the internet. Even with the silly ban on internet gambling there are still many sites that offer real money play for U.S. citizens. With that said I will tell you my favorite site is Ultimate Bet. Don’t forget if you sign up to tell them james tomshay sent you! Username miketsp00. Had to throw that in there.

So how do you play against these opponents when you can’t see their poker face? The answer is carefully. Most experts will tell you in a live casino the key to winning often is to be aggressive. That holds true in online poker as well to a certain degree. However on the internet it is much more difficult to pickup and tells on your opponents. It seems at times everybody who you play against online is overly aggressive. This is what you need to exploit. It’s important to pay attention the the other players every move even after you have folded. At the same time you need to convery your own table image carefully. For the first 15-20 hands you want to play only premium starting hands. I’d start with nothing less than J 10 suited or better. This way as you are getting a feel for the other players you won’t be getting yourself into many hairy situations. You will know when you are in a hand that you are strong and you can relax a bit. As you start to take down a few pots showing only premium cards you can now begin to loosen up your play a little. Remember table image. All these players see you as a “tight player” because you haven’t been involved often, and when you have been you’ve shown the nuts! So you can now beging to raise some smaller pairs and 8 9 suited etc. in mid to late position. Most of the time they will fold and you can pickup the blinds. At the same time if they call you may think they are very strong because they all know you as a conservative player. They aren’t going to call or raise you without a premium hand of their own unless they are just maniacs. In which case you would already know this from information you’ve gathered in the previous hands. It’s not difficult to identify the donkeys online.

A quick note about starting to play more aggressive… I recommend raising with hands such as 3 5 or 5 7 suited in late position if nobody has raised ahead of you. You will only be competing with the blinds and they will likely fold. If they don’t your hand has many killer possibilities though. Say the flop comes Ace hearts,2hearts, 4spades and you had 3 5 of hearts. You’ve already made a straight. You also have a flush draw and a STRAIGHT FLUSH DRAW! If your opponent has an ace they are likely to call any bet you make in this situation. They will never put you on such low cards because of your preflop raise. There is a great chance you will take them for all their chips if it’s a tournament or their money if it’s a cash game! This is called “low ball poker”.For more information on poker technique or any other type of gambling visit my site listed in the author bio. I have a few articles on the site as well as links to all the BEST strategy ebooks on the internet! I’ve sifted through the scams for you. They are all used by me and come with money back guarantees. So enjoy and I hope this article was helpful!

Difference Between Conventional Poker and Online Poker

Posted by poker bonus guru | Articles | Saturday 27 February 2010 1:58 pm

Conventional poker is the type of poker that is so ingrained into pop culture these days that there are literally television shows on sports channels about it. Online poker helps facilitate a movement to conventional poker, but there are still a number of differences between online poker and conventional poker that people need to be aware of. In this article, let us have a look at the main differences between conventional poker and online poker.

Click here to visit The Best Online Casino

Speed: You will find that a great number of online poker tables will deal hands at a rate of one hand per minute or even more than one hand per minute. However, even the best dealers at the casino are lucky if they are able to deal a hand every two minutes. This is because of things like instantaneous shuffling online, instantaneous counting and placing of chips and the fact that everything is clear and precisely done by computers online whereas it is done by slower human brains offline. This means that if you are an action junkie and want more action, the online realm is the realm for you. If you want to really get some action you can even play more than one table at the same time! Party Poker allows you to play up to 16 different tables at once, which means that if you play all 16 at once you could end up looking at 32 times more hands in a single hour of playing online versus playing at a casino!

Tells: The online tells are different from the offline tells. This is not to say that the online tells are non-existent; it is only people that do not understand online poker that will tell you this. What you will not be able to find online are physical tells; tells that are akin to the Teddy KGB Oreo tell from the movie Rounders. However, you can use statistical analysis and the preciseness of the online poker forum to come up with betting patterns that you would never have spotted otherwise; betting patterns that are so interesting and so subtle that the player themselves could not possibly be faking it. These are tells that you can exploit time and time again and that you can refine time and time again as you continue to meet that player online.

Tilt: Ever hear the expression that in space nobody can hear you scream? Well, the same is absolutely true for online poker. If you are in a casino and suffer a horrendous beat, you are either going to have to leave the table and take a walk or you are going to have to grin and bear it. You are not going to be able to scream your lungs out at the table, as that will usually warrant a swift kick in the rear end as you are removed from the casino. However, online, you are the only one that can hear you (assuming nobody else is in your house at the moment) and therefore you can feel free to relieve your tilt immediately by screaming your lungs out as you please. Just don’t smash your computer in the process!

There are many opinions and strategies used by successful players who are considered Texas holdem poker experts. If you want to beat your opponents and win more often, then my advice is to play like a bully and intimidate everyone. Don’t let yourself fall into a rut, and by all means, do not become predictable. That is how most players end up losing the game. Change it up whenever you can, you need to adopt multiple strategies if you wish to truly become successful at Texas holdem poker.

Poker Chips: A wide variety of poker chips are available, at an equally wide variety of costs. If you’re buying for a true Poker lover, Ceramic or Clay poker chips may be a good choice. Ceramic Poker Chips are casino grade chips. The graphics on these chips are actually part of the chip. Clay poker chips are rapidly becoming the most popular choice for chips. They have distinct feel and sound to them which is softer with a more solid sound. Also, they are not slippery like composite chips, which makes them stack better. Paulson poker chips have a distinct look and feel to them. These chips are true casino grade chips that are used by many casinos around the world, including well known Las Vegas casinos. You may also choose to customize your own chips with hot stamping, labels or full color chip graphics of your home casino logo.

Poker Chip Cases and/or Trays: There are a multitude of chip cases and trays on the market, from inexpensive plastic trays to outrageously expensive sets. Cases are typically made of Acrylic, vinyl, aluminum, leather or wood.  Acrylic or aluminum attaché cases are an inexpensive option, however If your poker player has clay chips or more expensive collectible chips, you may want to purchase a better quality case. You can also choose from different capacity chip cases, with the ability to store anywhere from 100 to 1000 chips. There are a variety of wooden poker chip case styles you can pick from, including custom cases made to your specifications. Poker cases may include chip trays or racks that can be used to protect and store your poker chips, or can be removed to stack player’s chips at the poker table.

A Poker Table: If your poker player is serious about their game, they may enjoy their own poker table to add to their home gaming experience. The options range from $30 portable table tops that just sit on top of existing tables (such as your dining room table) to dedicated Poker tables costing hundreds to thousands of dollars.

Dealer Button / Card Protectors: Having a Dealer Button is essential for playing Texas Hold-Em Poker. This is an inexpensive way to enhance your games. A dealer button is used in Texas Hold-Em to designate the theoretical dealer for a hand of poker. Dealer buttons usually look like a big poker chip (or hockey puck) and have the word ‘Dealer’ written, stamped, etched, or engraved on one or both sides. They can be quite elaborate and cost up to $100. A plastic dealer button may be purchased for a few dollars and many poker chip sets come with a button included. You can also buy “big blind” and “small blind” buttons.

A card protector (card guard) is usually a large or unique poker chip or paraphernalia that is placed on top of your hole cards to “protect” them from being collected by the dealer or another player. Poker Card protectors make a unique gift and custom protectors make them one-of-a-kind.

Card Shuffler: An automatic card shuffler shuffles one or two full decks of cards into one. Automatic card shufflers are inexpensive ($10 to $25, generally), making this another great gift for budget-conscious shoppers.

Online Poker Freerolls – Learn How to Get Money For Free!

Posted by poker bonus guru | Articles | Saturday 27 February 2010 12:56 pm

If you are fond of playing online poker and would want to win money with it…yet don’t want to make a deposit into your poker account – either because you don’t have any money or are simply not confident in your chances of winning – Online Poker Freerolls may be what you are looking for. While it needs patience, it is possible to start a small poker bankroll by playing exclusively in online poker freerolls until you have enough money to join the cash tables. With sensible playing and good bankroll management, it will be only a matter of time before you get your own decent bankroll to use. Here are some tips on how to earn money through Online Poker Freerolls.

Don’t take losing too seriously. With Online Poker Freerolls, luck plays an even bigger factor, which means your chances of losing randomly also increase. Be more laidback and just let wins and losses come to you. If you expect too much from freerolls, you may end up frustrated or disappointed, without affecting any of the outcome. If you become too frustrated, you may end up quitting altogether, which effectively ends your chances of earning money for free.

Next, as with anything that involves luck as a major factor, quantity will increase your chances of getting lucky. Sign up for a number of rooms. Almost all rooms will offer freerolls at certain points, which they do to entice you into joining. This means they will be more than willing to let you sign up, and will be happy if you play in them. Remember, your chances of winning money increase the more online poker freerolls you join and the more games you play.

When it comes to the game proper, don’t be aggressive at the outset. The start of the games usually involves chaos, as those who are blindly playing with their luck are going at it in full force. These players tend to run out of steam eventually, significantly thinning the number of your opponents and greatly increases your chances of winning. This means you have to reserve your best hands and plays, as well as your aggressive streak for the later parts when they will have a better chance of succeeding, and will have more rewards.

Next, you need to watch out for players who are sitting out and not participating in any of the hands. These players are usually “no-shows” and have signed up for the tournament, but for some reason or another weren’t able to play. Their blinds can be taken advantage of by anyone who raises pre-flop and doesn’t encounter any opponent that is actually playing in the tournament. Be aware that there are other players who wish to do the same thing, and you may end up in a contest against them for these free blinds.

Lastly, expect that the dynamics in online poker freeroll rooms tend to change indiscriminately as players have a tendency to drop out at a very fast rate and make it seem like you are about to get the money, but expect that the fewer the players are, the skills of the remaining ones tend to increase. As soon as the luck riders disappear, you may find yourself going against people who actually know what they are doing. So you need to actually learn to play poker if you want to survive these last few stages.
