@dallasj7 yeah Dennis butchered the f out of this hand. Prob would haves stacked him if he just raised in the first place.
Dennis is solid but I really do think he played this hand terrrribly. Limping AK can be considered okay in some situations, I don’t like it here though. The 3bet is fine, but I don’t like Dennis calling Ivan’s 4bet with AKo OUT OF POSITION. He has ~a pot sized bet left (a lil more) on the flop. I really think he needs to 5bet shove/fold. Calling seems to be the worst option.
Then he bets ~4.5milli on the flop into ~17m. Ivan makes a good read and shoves all in knowing Dennis WILL NOT call.

Dude, wtf are you talking about? “Every player”? It was heads up and he was only losing to Aces or Kings. If you think your opponent has aces or kings in that spot then wouldn’t it be a good idea to just fold instead of calling? Obviously he didn’t put him on aces or kings which is why he should of gone all in, it would have won him the hand.

Going all-in preflop would more likely make every player fold, than if he just played it well with some valuebets and raises. Thats why. -.-’

when demidov made it 8mil, it was already a bluff, I don’t think demidov believed his AQ was the best hand at that point.

Why didn’t Dennis Phillips go all in pre flop?
Its not really a bluff, more a semi-bluff…
He has some outs to hit if it goes to showdown.
Besides this is the standard way to play AK or AQ after the flop, even if you miss you still lead out with a continuation bet in case your opponent has also missed their hand.
The re-raise post flop is a normal 3-bet which is what you would do if you put your opponent on missing the board, the only difference being the 3-bet happens to be risking all of Demidov chips, but he must of had a read.

Saying “I raise” when there was no action gave it away I think.
Maybe Demidov picked up something else as well.I’m quite sure this was some sort of live read
@thomasmoonman well-put and i agree, he did a good job of using his position to get a good read on his opponent… he knows that every one of his pre-flop raises and the all-in bet would make sense if he was playing something like TT or JJ in the hole and had just flopped a set, nice bluff

If he had the high pocket pair he would’ve been all-in pre flop, and he would never call with less than AQ, AJ is garbage at that point. he figures worse case scenario split pot, he didnt do anything great..

@kostas2419 That was a bluff. You cant call an 8 outer anything but a bluff after a reraise and then an open raise off the flop. Great Bluff. He put him on either 8s or AK. great read, great bet.
